How to decorate an office
Bringing the workspace to life is an important aspect of office design. Appropriate decoration can increase productivity and boost employee morale.
At AreaZero 2.0 we take care of every detail of the design process, always taking into account the needs and characteristics of the client.
Planning the office design
To achieve a practical office, before we get down to work, it is crucial to plan its design. There’s much more to an office than simply installing operational furnishings.
We must bear in mind that we are going to spend a lot of time here, so it is best to leave this process in the hands of professionals. Otherwise, we are likely to make mistakes that will have an impact on labour productivity.
Separate work and relaxation areas
Whether you work at home or in the office, ideally you should have one particular space for resting and another for working. These spaces should be separated by elements that make the different uses private.
A relaxation area provides many benefits: it not only improves the well-being of employees, but it also boosts their productivity, keeps them motivated, facilitates good working relationships and improves communication in the company, both horizontally and vertically.
Goodbye to paper
It is increasingly more common to reduce personal storage, and especially the misuse of paper. Reducing the use of paper not only increases a company’s efficiency, but it also makes daily work easier for employees, protects the environment and keeps a company’s costs down.
For this reason, the trend is to create spaces to add lockers for personal use and gradually eliminate storage.
Creating synergies between different teams
Communication is the basis of good relationships, and this is true in both the professional and business spheres. People need to interact with those around them, so it is important to encourage such communication in the office.
The reduction of physical barriers is essential to create synergies between different teams. A more open design, where desks are positioned so that employees can easily talk to each other, is a very effective method for improving the work environment and communication.
Lighting
In the office or in any workspace, the right lighting boosts productivity, improves motivation and helps reduce absenteeism. The sun is the best option for working calmly and easily, without tiring the eyes.
If the office has large windows, make 100% use of that natural light. However, in order to keep extremely direct light, we recommend the use of translucent blinds that still let light pass through, but soften it.
Wherever possible, natural light should be respected and supplemented with artificial light to comply with occupational health and safety standards in the workplace.
Creating a corporate image
It is clear that creating a workspace is not the same as creating a personalised workspace. Working in an environment where decoration plays an important role and where certain elements embellish the room will increase productivity. One of the most frequently used resources involves playing with the corporate image.
Choosing the right type of furniture
It is essential for worker comfort to be a priority in all companies. Thanks to ergonomics, workstations are available that are adapted to the needs of the worker, i.e. it is not the body that has to adapt to the object, but the other way round.
Ergonomics provides many benefits:
- Safety and prevention of occupational hazards.
- Prevention of musculoskeletal pain in employees.
- Increased employee productivity.
- Optimised process efficiency.
- Improved quality of results.
- Increased sense of belonging among workers.
Careful attention to rest and leisure areas
Even if people don’t work in these areas, you still need to pay careful attention to them, as they are an essential part of the office. This is the area where workers recharge their energy to carry on with their day-to-day work.
At AreaZero 2.0 we appreciate the importance of ensuring that the space created for work meets the client’s needs, personalising each and every detail. Would you like to see some of our projects? Click here!
